ABOUT ANECAA, HYDERABAD

“Birth of the present registered body of ANECAA/ Hyderabad”

P Siva kumar, one of the successful industrialists among the alumni, with some of his close friends started informally E.C.A. ‘Sixties Club’ in the year 1985 -to facilitate meeting of past students of the Anantapur Engineering College and residing in Hyderabad.

The membership was limited to those passed out in 1960 to 1970, to have members of close age group expecting better camaraderie.

The idea worked well. Subsequently Membership was opened up for all passouts of the college of Engg Anantapur

The membership grew in size gradually and so as the activities. Time had come for its transformation into a fullfledged Association and merger with the existing Alumni Association in Hyderabad. Need was also felt for registering the body with appropriate by-laws. Again with the pioneering work of Sri. P. Sivakumar, the Association got registered in 1998 -as Anantapur Engineering College Alumni Association, Hyderabad (ANECAA, Hyderabad).

The Association was functioning with limited resources, mostly personal contributions of a few. Major fund raising took place in latter part of 1990’s through conducting a successful seminar on Independent Power Plants, thanks to the painstaking efforts of M .Sankaraiah ,B Ranga Reddy, P Murali Mohan, Varahala Rao and other members from BHEL, Ramachandrapuram

Over the years, the Association grew in size with present strength of 800 – members due to relentless membership drive and devising interesting activities by K.A.Ramayya, U.Narasimhamurty and T.Rajagopal.”

The present body acknowledges with thanks, the pioneering efforts of Past presidents, secretaries, Proff T.B.Krishna Swamy,, Sri.M.R.Naidu and Sri Sanag Choudary in the formative stages of ANECAA. The present body thanks particularly Prof. T.B. Krishna Swamy for initial formative work of ANECAA during 1960’s, and conducted a Grand Alumini Meet in Madras University Auditorium in 1978 and a large gathering of ECA Alumni participated in that meet.
